There was a time when boxing federations were many, for eg., WBC, EBC, etc, etc, each having its own championship. (I have stoppd following them now, so I wouldn't know the current status.) Some great boxer would come along and win all these titles merging the championship in one person.

The same thing seems to be happening in Indian polity now. Just think. Manmohan Singh as PM only leads to Sonia Gandhi as Super PM.  Now with Pratibha Patil as President, Mrs. Gandhi will be Super President!!! Talk about supreme power.
